Himalaya cat is very cute and very pretty cat. This cat is very famous and soo lovely cat. Mostly people like the Himalaya cat breed. This cat breed same like the Persian cat breed. Himalaya cat has the long hair , blue eyes and its points coloration.
This Himalaya cat breed derived from the crossing the Persian with Siamese. Some people said that the Himalaya cat is sub breed of Siamese or the colour point of sub breed of Persian. The world cat federation has merged them with colour point short hair.
History:
I have little or no more information about the breed of Himalaya cat that how ancient four main group of cats and how these two varieties of tabby, single colour white or black and the sex linked orange.
There are some other breed of cats that are control by the man like manx, Siamese , Persian etc.
Himalaya cat and Persian cat has a colour variation and they do compete in their own colour division. Mostly the Himalaya long hair cat breed are descended from Pallas cat. There is no evidence for this and it is more likely that the long hair domestic cat are the result of artificial selection.
In 1950 Mrs Goforth received the recognition from the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and start separate US based breeding efforts.
Mostly the first breeder was interested in adding the Siamese coloring with long haired breeds. In 1980 some people were reintroducing the Siamese stock and producing less Persian styles cat.
Appearance:
It is three year old seal point doll faced Himalayan cat and Himalaya cat has a round or cobby body and has a short legs. These short legs of Himalaya cat makes it harder for them to jumps as compare to other cats breed. Some cat have more of like the Siamese cat body and thus do not have the limitation. Its depend upon the specific breed of cat.
Head:
Like the Persian cat the Himalayan cat have two types of breed like traditional or doll face which has the more extreme squashed looking facial features. The seal-point Himalayan in the photo to the left is doll-faced while the red point in the title image is peke-faced.
Show Himalayans display a nose break as do peke-faced Persians and have very large ,round eyes with the nose leather directly between the eyes. Breeder or pet Himalayans generally have longer noses than the show cats, and may display a longer muzzle and smaller eyes than the show cats do. All three types of cat are Himalayans.
Coat
Blue point: A cat whose blue coat color is confined to the points: the feet, ears, tail, and face mask.
Lilac Point: A diluted, brighter version of blue point. Body color is whiter and brighter than on a blue point cat.
Seal Point: Seal brown color on the points.
Chocolate Point: Chocolate brown color on the points (face mask, ears, tail, and legs), as opposed to the darker seal brown.
One distinction between the chocolate point and seal point is the color of their paw pads. The chocolate point will have pink paw pads, whereas the seal point will have dark brown paw pads.
Red or Flame Point: If both parent cats are definitely dilutes (blue, cream or blue cream), the offspring cannot be a flame point.
Cream Point: Flame and cream colors can be very close. There are hot creams and light reds. Body color is whiter and brighter than on a seal point cat.
The Chocolate and Lilac point Himalayans are the most difficult to produce, because both parents must carry the gene for Chocolate/Lilac to produce a Chocolate and Lilac kitten, as the trait is autosomal recessive.
Health:
Due the ancestry of Persian cat the Himalaya cat may have the gene that causes the Polycystic kidney disease. Like many long haired cats Himalayan cat must need to brushed daily to keep their coat clean and healthiest. They must need to wiped their face daily. Bathing a Himalayan cat must need necessary to help the reduce amount of oil on the fur and skin of cat.
